What is alkaline ionized water?

Alkaline ionized water is water that has been processed through electrolysis to produce alkaline water with a higher pH. During this process, naturally occurring minerals help conduct electricity, resulting in water with different pH characteristics.

How is alkaline water different from regular drinking water?

Regular drinking water typically has a neutral pH of around 7. Alkaline water has a higher pH and may contain dissolved minerals depending on its source or how it is produced. Water composition can vary based on local water quality and treatment methods.

Why are minerals important in alkaline water?

Minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium improve water conductivity, allowing efficient electrolysis. They also contribute to the taste and mineral profile of the water.

Can RO water be used directly in a water ionizer?

Reverse osmosis (RO) removes a significant amount of dissolved minerals. Since electrolysis depends on conductivity, extremely low-mineral water may not perform optimally. Many systems work best when the feed water contains an appropriate level of minerals.

What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a process that uses electricity to separate water into different streams. Inside a water ionizer, platinum-coated titanium plates apply an electrical current, producing alkaline and acidic water.

What is ORP?

ORP stands for Oxidation Reduction Potential, measured in millivolts (mV). It indicates a solution's tendency to either gain or lose electrons. ORP values can vary depending on water composition and the electrolysis process.
